Cyber essentials scheme provides the control which every business should implement to reduce or avoid the risk of Internet-based threats. According to the government, this scheme significantly reduces the organization’s vulnerability. However, many organizations for not implementing these controls were led to some serious breaches.
To mention a few, “lack of firewall and usage of second-hand switches led Central Bank of Bangladesh to be the victim of $81 million cyber heists.”
Not just the Central Bank of Bangladesh, but also NASA’s drone was allegedly hacked. This hack led to the root access to network-attacked-storage devices.
These hacks are not limited to only the outside hackers; employees are having easy access to the sensitive data which sometimes leads to data being stolen or to inflict damage.
As we all know, we should learn from other people’s mistakes. Thus, it is essential to understand and implement cyber essentials for every business. To know more, click here.
